Help children be seen and protected
Donate by June 30 and help children like Rosie to heal.
Rosie and Elise* were just trying to survive but against a back drop of sexual abuse even just finding ways to survive day after day was impossible. The girls, like many sexual abuse victims often feel a deep sense of shame, as if what happened was their fault – and it can take a long time for them to feel safe enough to reveal the full, horrifying truth.
At Barnardos they only had to tell their story once; the sisters are now out of immediate danger, living with one of our caring crisis foster carers.
But the truth is that these girls face a long journey of healing ahead.
With your help, the two sisters can get extra support at school to help them catch up with their peers after a life of neglected education. And with urgent psychological support, Rosie and Elise will learn how to remain safe in the future.
With your continued support, we will continue to care for innocent children who have been sexually abused, and advocate passionately for better protection for vulnerable children across Australia.
