strip Hope starts with one night

One night of safety. One night of warmth. One night with a bed to sleep in.

We urgently need to raise $80,000 to provide 1,250 nights of emergency accommodation for children and young people at risk of homelessness.

Tonight, over 28,000 young people are homeless in our country*. Many of them are fleeing violence, facing mental health challenges, or struggling with disengagement from school and work. With the cost-of-living crisis worsening, this number is only growing.

But there is hope.

Together, we can provide 1,250 safe nights for children and young people who need them most. Starting with just one night of safety, we can unlock a future of limitless potential. GIFT A NIGHT OF SAFETY

strip The problem

The housing and cost-of-living crisis is forcing more and more young people into homelessness, leaving them hopeless and
feeling like they have nowhere to turn. They need your help now.

By coming together, we can transform one night of safety into every night for children and young people.

Without support, challenges like mental health struggles, family violence, and job insecurity can keep them caught in a cycle
of poverty and homelessness. Without your help, they can break free and build a brighter future.

strip How your gift helps

Every donation YOU make and every night of urgent accommodation we provide together creates life-changing
opportunities for young people - proving that your support truly makes a difference.

Thanks to YOU, Barnardos can do more than provide shelter—we can offer safety, stability, and hope of a better tomorrow.

Programs like our Streetwork program in Belmore and Marrickville play a crucial role in providing support and
the chance to dream for a brighter future. These programs provide outreach, resources, and most
importantly a safe space for young people experiencing homelessness.

strip Emma^ now has a future filled with hope

At just 17, Emma had already endured more than most young people should ever face. With a broken family and no stable place to call home, her mental health deteriorated along with her hope. Her education began falling behind and her ambitions for the future became little more than finding a bed to sleep in for the night.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. With your help, young people can rebuild their lives, claim their strength, and create a brighter future full of possibility.

She found Barnardos Youth Emergency Accommodation Network, and everything began to change.

Emma was provided with immediate accommodation, ensuring that for the first time in months, she had a warm, secure place to sleep.

She was provided vital support through Barnardos where her physical and emotional safety were prioritised, and she was given the time and space to heal from her traumatic experiences. She was able to continue her studies, navigate her emotional scars and was temporarily placed with a supportive couple, David and Pam.

Thanks to the kindness of people like you, Emma was able to enrol in TAFE again and began reconnecting with her family. But most importantly, she regained the belief that she could have a future. Barnardos ensured she had not only a safe place to stay, but the tools, guidance, and community needed to overcome her challenges and create a brighter future for herself.

When we work together, we can enable young people to reach their full potential. Barnardos will always be here to support children, young people and families in need because they have a right to a safe and secure home.

You can help give more children and young people like Emma hope again. Gift a night of safety today.
