Australian children need you now more than ever.
At Barnardos, we believe every child deserves to grow up safely, free from abuse and neglect. We exist to protect and care for some of society’s most vulnerable children and families and their health and wellbeing is always our highest priority.
The COVID-19 pandemic is causing a greater need for our services in the community than we have ever seen before. We are continuing to provide our essential services to support families in need – but we can’t do it without you.
Social isolation will mean more families will be under financial and emotional stress which could push them to breaking point. And in these circumstances, sadly it is the children who suffer most.
Families in crisis are already turning to us for help in unprecedented numbers. We are receiving so many calls from struggling families unable to access hygiene products and groceries. Our team is working around the clock to provide food parcels to those isolated in their homes and unable to afford the basics.
We are also working in accordance with Government directives to regularly check-in on our children and families at risk while continuing to support our foster carers to look after the children in their care.
It is critical for us to continue to provide our services to support vulnerable children and families.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic is having a significant impact on our service delivery and placing considerable strain on our resources.
Barnardos need your help to assist those in crisis within our community. Together, we must be there for vulnerable children over the weeks and months to come. It’s important to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe, but the most vulnerable groups in our community need you more than ever.
As the global outbreak of COVID-19 continues to unfold, we hope that you and your families stay safe and healthy during this time. Thank you for helping to keep Aussie children safe from abuse and neglect.
